Biggest ever Salvation Army donation

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who contributed to our Salvation Army collection in any way, shape or form. The Sixth Form students worked hard to pull together our biggest collection yet but this wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support of form tutors and staff members – it was a real team effort. We’ve had a steady stream of food hampers arriving to C3 and the RE staffroom all week. Staff dug deep to help Jen Devine raise over £100 to go and buy some toys for local children too.

The two volunteers who came to collect the food and gifts were absolutely blown away by the generosity, enthusiasm and lovely manners of the Year 7, 8, 12 & 13 students who greeted them at reception. We filled 5 car-loads!?! We even had an ex-student get in touch to volunteer to help deliver the food.

They will use our collection to cook a huge Christmas dinner for some of the most lonely and vulnerable members of our local community, but also to use as food-hampers for those in need throughout the early months of the year when most feel the financial strain.

Thank you so, so much again – it was a lovely way to end the year and captured the spirit of the school at its very best.

Merry Christmas

Mr Clifford and 12R
