Girls Regional U15 Indoor Cricket

by Dana Buendia, Year 10

On Friday 9th February 2018, a group of 15 girls from the Years 8, 9 and 10 competed in an U15 Indoor Cricket competition in North Tyneside. We took two teams, an A and a B team and played against teams from John Spence, Gosforth Academy and Kings Priory.

We arrived in the morning full of excitement and adrenaline, and while there were still some nerves before playing, we shook them off and played some amazing cricket. There were unbelievable batting skills present throughout the day and the fielding was consistently excellent! These skills allowed us to win all our matches and land us in the finals against John Spence A.

The final was a tough match, with our team batting first and giving us our highest score of the day with 113! John Spence were up next with some amazing batting skills too, so the game ended up being very tight.  On the last over they fell short by 16 runs, therefore meaning that we had become regional champions!

Everyone played the best they could and in the end, it paid off. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day and had a well deserved reward of a trip to McDonalds.
