Irish Dancing Champion

By Erin Anderson, Year 10

My name is Erin Anderson and I am an Irish dancer, dancing for Mason Cummins Academy.  I train approximately ten hours a week and also compete all around the country every month. On the 12th November I qualified for the World Championships in both the solo and team event. The World Championships, held at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow in March, will host over 14,500 dancers, 200 of them in my age category.  I dedicate a lot of my time to my training, not only at training but at home too. I am currently ranked fourth in the North East of England for under fifteens, which is a huge achievement. My aim is to recall at Worlds; only the top fifty in the world will achieve this.
