Leeds Trinity RE trip

by Skye Foxton and Ellie Curry, Year 13

On Thursday 7th November, the Year 12 and 13 Ethics and Philosophy classes had the opportunity to visit a subject-based day at Leeds Trinity University. When we got there, we had a lovely campus tour by a student ambassador who gave us a full insight on student life and information about the degree she is currently undertaking: Primary Education. We found this very interesting and potentially the most enjoyable part of the day as it enabled us to gain a feeling of what it would be like to study at Leeds Trinity University.

Following our campus tour, we were able to have lunch for free at the University canteen. This was a very vibrant atmosphere where we got to feel the positive vibe from all the current students.

We then ended our day with a two hour taster session into the degree of Philosophy, Ethics and Religion. We found this very informative and engaging as the lecturer covered two topics we are currently learning about within our A-Level: Augustine’s teaching on human nature and the soul, mind and body. We thought that this broadened our knowledge and rounded off the day by giving us a true representation of what life would be like as a University student.

Overall, it was an amazing experience and helped reassure choices with regards to UCAS!
