Pink day 2018

by Najiya Ali, Year 13

On the 26th October, St Thomas More Sixth Form celebrated ‘Pink Day’ by wearing pink and donating money, raising an amazing total of £1013.56 for the charity Breast Cancer Now.

The day started with students donating £2 for ‘Wear it Pink’. It also consisted of glitter tattoos, guess the weight of the sweets, a raffle (for a box of cupcakes) and much more, which added to the wonderful ambiance of the day. It was spectacular to see how many students, teachers and staff got involved for such an important event, with many making and buying delicious treats including cupcakes, donuts and brownies. Additionally, it was brilliant to see the incredible effort put into wearing pink, shown by the array of excellent outfits on display. Jessica Pearson, Year 13, said “I loved how positive the day was and it was great to see the different ways we raised money.”
