Health and Social Care

  • Pupils in Years 12 and 13 study for a Cambridge Technical which is the equivalent of 2 A-levels.
  • Pupils who study Health and Social Care tend to want to progress on to university to study: nursing, social work, teaching, childhood studies, psychology, public health, sociology, paramedic science, speech therapy, play therapy, community and youth work or guidance and counselling.
  • This course covers a broad spectrum allowing pupils to apply learning to a number of different settings and scenarios. This should make the choice about what they want to progress on to an easier decision.
  • There is no work experience aspect to the course but it is advised that pupils arrange some work experience to help contextualise the learning and put into practice what they have learned.
