Sophie teaches the Chinese!

By Sophie Newton, Year 8

For a week in November, I was lucky enough to visit China, as my primary school, Stephenson Memorial, has a sister school called Yiq Yang Primary in Shenzhen. After two long flights we arrived in Hong Kong ready to travel across the Chinese border.

We were there to help them learn how to use iPads for educational purposes. The classes were much larger than ours with approximately fifty pupils in each class!

During our time there, we were shown how to make chinese dumplings and how to quit paper. We also walked around Lotus Hill and got to see the third tallest building in the world was huge! Shenzhen is very different to North Shields; the area is highly populated and everywhere seems to be apartments and very tall buildings.
