Statement of Intent for the 16-19 Tuition Fund
The 16-19 Tuition Fund is additional funding to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from Coronavirus.
The funding is provided to specifically support small groups of students in English and Maths and other courses where learning has been disrupted.
Students supported by this funding are those that are yet to achieve a Grade 5 or above in GCSE English or Maths.
Priority is given to students who have not achieved a Grade 4. Students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) will also be supported by this provision.

STM will ensure the tuition fund is used in accordance with the Government’s guidance.
Tuition groups will be small, up to five students, and scheduled in addition to the planned programme of study hours during this academic year.
Tuition sessions will consist of face to face delivery switching to a blended or online delivery model, if necessary.
The fund primarily will support GCSE English and Maths. If appropriate it may also be used to support any aim within the learner’s programme of study.
Examples of the support offered will include:
– Extra lessons offered by additional subject specialist recruited this academic year.
– An increased opportunity to access examinations alongside their resit GCSEs i.e. Maths Functional Skills Level 2.
– Specific topic support through designated teachers and coaches.
– Appropriate resources purchased for students to aid their teaching, learning and progress. – Academic skills support and development through mentoring.
– Additional support in Vocational Subjects.
