Year 11 Ambassadors

For the first time this year, we have Year 11 Ambassadors, who were selected last year either through a combination of nomination by staff and writing fantastic letters saying why they would like to do it.  So far this year they have been invaluable support in Year 7 form classes, they have helped out at open evenings, and some of them even came in a day before they officially started in September to help the new Year 7s settle in.  Well done to all of these students, and thank you for your continued support of the school!

My name is Stebin Abraham, I’m in Year 11 and I am a Year 7 form ambassador.  I went to Star of the Sea RC Primary School.  I enjoy playing all sports, especially basketball, and I also like to listen to all types of music.  I work with form 7E and I help to check the equipment and answer any questions they might have.  I went into school on the first day to see if everyone was settling in well and help them to navigate around school.

My name is Ben Anastasi and I am a Year 7 form ambassador.  I went to Star of the Sea RC Primary School and I hope to go to St Thomas More RC Academy Sixth Form.  I help at my Year 7 form (7C) two mornings each week and sometimes help out during their form lessons.  I am a smart, sporty and understanding person who loves to help others.  I love listening to music and talking to my friends; I love to “talk!”  Helping the Year 7s is great as it’s an opportunity that we never had and wish we had.  It also gives me access to many more opportunities which I’m glad I have.

My name is Amelia Bewick and I have a twin brother who is one minute younger.  I went to St. Bernadette’s Primary School and when I was in Year 6 I travelled to Lourdes.  I have a Lionhead ginger rabbit called Flopsy who is very stubborn.  I am an ambassador for 7R on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

My name is Amy Brown-Joyce, I’m currently in Year 11 and I help the students in form 7T every week on Wednesday and Thursday.  I help by handing out letters and assisting the teacher with whatever is needed.  I enjoy my time as a form ambassador because it allows me to gain some experience on leadership which I hope will be a useful skill for the future.  Outside of school I play football for Whitley Bay Football Club.  In my free time I enjoy listening to a wide range of music.  I listen to music from the 1980’s such as Fleetwood Mac and artists from today such as Twenty One Pilots, Fifth Harmony, Macklemore and 5 Seconds of Summer.

My name is Sam Byerley and since the start of the year I have been going into form 7R.  As an ambassador I help check equipment and help in form class on a Wednesday and a Thursday.  I went to St. Mary’s Primary School in Cullercoates.  Outside of school I enjoy playing rugby and cricket and listening to all types of music.

Hi, I’m Emma Charlton and I help out in 7A.  I went to New York Primary School.  We go into form on a Wednesday and Thursday morning and go into their PSE lessons to see how they are getting on.

I’m Rachael Cook and I am an ambassador with 7O.  I went to Monkhouse Primary School and I came to St. Thomas More RC Academy as the only person from my primary school.  I enjoy listening to music and singing.  I also enjoy shopping with my friends.  Since becoming an ambassador I have helped out in form and in PSE lessons.

I’m Daniel Dryden and I’m an ambassador to 7E.  I help with equipment and uniform checks during form time and also help during some PSE lessons.  I went to St. Mary’s Primary School in Cullercoates.  I enjoy playing rugby and listening to all types of music.

My name is Amy Hamilton and I am a form ambassador for 7M.  I went to Hadrian Park Primary School and really enjoy singing.  I sing a lot a home, and I really enjoy it.  I really enjoy working with the Year 7s as it gives me an opportunity to interact with them and help them out.

I’m Katherine Loughney and I love working with and looking after the Year 7s.  They seem to be enjoying school very much!  My favourite subject is Chemistry which I plan on continuing at A Level.  In my spare time, I practice the piano and saxophone.  I’m also in a jazz band that I attend every Saturday morning, which is a great way of spending time with friends.

I’m Zannat Malik and my favourite subject is Art.  I also enjoy listening to Music.  What I enjoy most about being an ambassador is the opportunity to work closely with younger people.

My name is Alex Moderate and I’m a Year 7 ambassador.  I went to Star of the Sea RC Primary School.  Twice a week Emma and I go to help Year 7 in their form and check to see if everyone has their planner and equipment.  I came into school on their first day in September to make sure they were settling in well.  I like being an ambassador because I like to be helpful and it’s an opportunity that I didn’t have as a Year 7.

I’m Jack Morgan from form 11O and I am form ambassador for 7O.  I signed up to be an ambassador because in Year 7 there wasn’t really anybody to ask questions to about school life in general.  I enjoy being an ambassador because I enjoy helping out and making someone else’s life easier.  My favourite moment from being an ambassador was the second week of the school year and there was no one else in the classroom apart from the Year 7s, as I walked in they all stood up saying “Good Morning Sir”.  On a usual day the other form ambassadors and I walk around talking to the Year 7s and we help check equipment, uniform and sometimes planners.

My name is James Peart and I like to play football and cricket.  I like spending time with friends.  Things I like about help Year 7s are that you get to see school from their point of view and it helps them to see what it is like when you are in Year 11 and seeing the differences.

I’m Charlotte Rea, I’m an ambassador for Year 7.  I went to Star of the Sea RC Primary School.  I think I’m good as an ambassador as I am good with children and a really understanding person.  I also love talking!  I am a year 11 BTEC Performing Arts student and I also dance outside of School.

My name is Freya Rippin and I am form ambassador for 7E.  I joined St Thomas More RC Academy in Year 8 when I moved up from London with my Mum, Dad and brother.   On a Wednesday and Thursday, I go to form and help the Year 7s with equipment checks and we read with some of them.

My name is Thomas Seagrave-Hindmarsh, I love listening to and playing music, it’s all I do.   I want to go to St. Thomas More RC Academy Sixth Form and see what happens.  On 2 days of the week I help out with the Year 7s in their form time, helping them and the teacher.

I am Abbey Shippen and I am the ambassador for 7S.  I went to Star of the Sea RC Primary School.  I like being an ambassador because I get to know the young students better.  I go into their form every Wednesday and Thursday and help them settle into the school better.  I play the piano, enjoy listening to music and going to concerts.
