Year 7 Ampleforth Retreat

by Ashlea Seymour and Izzy Dutton, Year 7

On the 28th and 29th of November, 48 Year 7 students visited Ampleforth to meet Fr Bede, a monk at Ampleforth Abbey. Most people think a monk’s life is boring and dull but during our time at Ampleforth we realised that all the monks looked happy to be there and to live the life that they lead. Fr Bede taught us all about love and love of God, and we spent time planning the Mass that we celebrated at the end of our time there. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and we would like to thank Fr Bede, Miss Fairlamb, Mrs Robson, Michael the Chaplain, Mr O’Connor and Mrs Edwardson.
