Celebration of Achievement Evening

On Thursday 14th September, St Thomas More hosted an awards ceremony to celebrate the successes of our students in their examinations in the Summer of 2017.

A Level

The following students achieved 3 or more A* or A Grades in their Year 13 A Level exams.  We wish them all the greatest success as they move on to the next stage in their lives:

Nathan Smith to Manchester University to read Theoretical Physics.

Olivia Jack to the University of Leeds to read joint honours in French and English Literature.

Hannah Chapman to Leeds University to read Natural Sciences.

Matthew McCann to the University of Leeds to read Biology.

Charlotte Lowery to the University of Leeds to read Psychology.

Amelia Dunn to Manchester University to read English Literature.

Vicky Marriott to the University of York to read Linguistics and French, including a year abroad.

Abigail Wafer to the University of York to read English Literature.

Thomas Miller, who is taking a gap year to get a job before deciding what to do.

Francesco Bello to Cambridge University to read Natural Sciences.  Unfortunately Francesco was unable to attend the Celebration evening.

 

AS Level

The following students achieved 2 or more A Grades in their Year 12 exams (A* not available at Year 12).  This is a great start to their 2 year course and we wish them success for this year:

Darcy Nathan is continuing to study English Literature, English Language and Psychology.

Fay Staker is continuing to study English Literature, History and Psychology.

Thomas Stappenbeck is continuing to study Chemistry, English Literature, Maths and Further Maths.

Niamh Waters is continuing to study History, Geography, English Literature and Ethics & Philosophy.

Katie Salmon is continuing to study English Language, English Literature and German.

Anna Jones is continuing to study English Literature, French, and Maths.  She was away at a university Open Day and therefore was unable to attend the Celebration evening.

Joseph Weir is continuing to study Chemistry, Physics and Maths.  He was unable to attend the Celebration evening.

 

GCSE

The following students achieved 8 or more A* or A Grades (or equivalent) in their GCSE exams.  The majority of these students have now started their A Level courses at St Thomas More:
