More as a Foundation Governor. Are you a practising Catholic who has a background in
Finance or Management?
If the answer is yes, then, read on…
Being a Foundation Governor in a Catholic school is very rewarding and a great way to live
out your faith and serve your community. It is also an opportunity to learn skills which can
have a positive impact on your own self-development. Foundation Governors work closely
with the Headteacher as part of the Local Governing Committee and help to implement the
strategic direction of the school and promoting high standards of educational achievement,
along with monitoring budgets and staff structures. Foundation Governors are appointed for
a term of four years.
Criteria to become a Foundation Governor:
- A practising Catholic
- Able to obtain a reference from the Priest in the Parish where you regularly worship
- Time commitment to meet three times a term for a couple hours on an evening and review
all documentation prior to the meeting - An enhanced Disclosure & Barring Check (DBS)
We will support you with comprehensive training and induction.
