Members of the Girls Book group have been interviewing members of staff about their reading habits, including Mr Johnson:

What was your favourite book growing up?

Growing up, some of my favourite books were Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman , Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer, books about the Vikings and The Hobbit.

What are currently your favourite books?

Game of Thrones, I am Pilgrim and the Inheritance trilogy.

What is your favourite genre?

Fantasy.

How often do you read?

Whenever possible, really.

How often do you WANT to read?

Every night.

How often do you visit the library?

The library in North Shields once a month.

Do you prefer fiction or non-fiction and why?

Fiction, it allows me to escape and imagine new worlds.

As a science teacher, do you enjoy reading books about science?

Yes, I do enjoy those kind of books. I love learning new things and reading journal type science books.

What book are you reading at the moment and are you enjoying it?

Fight Club, and yes I am enjoying it!

What is the best book on science for year 7?

The Pig That Wants to Be Eaten.

What is your favourite Pokémon?

Blastoise.
