World Book Day 2020

Yesterday saw the school embrace World Book Day even more than usual.

All of KS3 read ‘The Veldt’ by Ray Bradbury through the day, discussing issues that came up through this story.  Some students were also lucky enough to work with a published poet.  More on these to follow.

The library was buzzing with various activities, including Mr Watson’s dog Maggie, who joined us for the day to act as a reading dog for some of our students.   Maggie enjoyed a wide range of literature…working her way up from Harry Paw-ter, through to Shakespeare’s  Mutt Ado about Nothing, before finally settling on her favourite “Wuffering Heights” (many thanks to Mrs Edwards for the puns!)

Thanks to Mr Watson for bringing her in, the students loved it!
