Year 7 have been raising money throughout Advent for a local charity “Sarah’s star”. This is a charity that has been set up by the mother of one of our Year 7 students, who sadly has a palliative diagnosis.
Charlie and his mum wrote a speech, which I read out in assembly. The entire year group were inspired and have worked extremely hard to fundraise in a variety of ways, from organising cake sales to completing individual sponsored runs.
Year 7 students also designed Christmas cards and wrote some beautiful messages, which Mrs Harrison delivered to the Oncology unit. I’m so impressed by their enthusiasm to help and how hardworking they have been.
An outstanding total of £978.08 was raised. Well done to all Year 7 students.
